Coterm Eligibility

In order to apply for the Coterminal Program in EE, applicants must not be scheduled to have their Bachelor's degree conferred the quarter immediately following the application (i.e., if graduating after Spring quarter, the application may NOT be submitted during Spring quarter). Applicants must also have completed 120 units toward graduation (these units may include AP and transfer credit).
If the applicant wishes to begin the coterm program a particular quarter, please submit the application by the SECOND WEEK of the PREVIOUS quarter. An example: if the applicant wishes to be admitted Spring Quarter, please submit the application by the second week of Winter Quarter. If this is an issue, please come to the Admissions Office do discuss your situation.
Having EE as a major is not necessary for the coterm application. Students with a technical background (computer science, engineering, mathematics, hard sciences) are welcome to apply.
Application Procedure
Applicants must submit the following to the EE Admissions Office (Packard 170).
1) Co-terminal application, program proposal and course transfer form (be sure to have your undergraduate advisor sign the application form where undergraduate representative signature is requested). Forms may be found here: http://registrar.stanford.edu/shared/forms.htm#Coterm
2) Statement of purpose (succinctly tell us why you wish to study for the EE MS degree)
3) GRE scores (please have ETS send your official scores to Stanford at school code 4704)
4) Stanford transcript (unofficial copy accepted)
5) Supplemental Information form. This may be found here:

Technical GPA is defined as all engineering courses (except technical writing), mathematics, computer science and hard sciences (physics and chemistry). Please list Stanford grades only.
6) Two (2) letters of recommendation, preferably from EE faculty members (Three (3) if the applicant wishes to be considered for funding). You may find this form here: http://registrar.stanford.edu/pdf/recformct.pdf
Items 1-5 may be submitted at any time. There is no need to wait for letters of recommendation. The EE Admissions office will contact you if any items are missing.
There is no deadline for submission. Please allow at least three weeks for a decision.
