Reinstatements

EE students who fail to either be enrolled by the study list deadline or approved for a leave of absence by the start of a term are required to be reinstated. Students are encouraged to contact the EE Admissions Office (Packard 170) to discuss their situation in detail.

How to Apply

Discontinued EE graduate students wishing to re-enroll must submit a request for reinstatement to the EE Admissions Office (Packard 170).  US citizen and permanent resident applications are due ONE WEEK prior to the first day of the intended quarter.   International students requiring either the F or J Visa must submit the application FOUR WEEKS prior to the first day of the intended quarter.

Please download the application and statement of purpose forms from this website:  http://registrar.stanford.edu/shared/forms.htm#GradStud.  The statement should discuss reasons for returning as well as activities undertaken since leaving Stanford.  Please be succinct.

Bring the completed application to the EE Admissions Office alongside a check for US$255 ($105 application fee and $150 reinstatement fee).  This is a fee imposed by the Registrar's Office and may not be waived by the department.

Once approved by the EE Admission Office, the form must go to the Registrar's Office for final approval.  Allow one week to process the request.
