Visiting the Electrical Engineering Department at Stanford

Stanford University is located on the San Francisco Peninsula and approximately 30 minutes from either San Francisco International Airport or San Jose International Airport.  If you are out of the area and would like to plan a trip out to Stanford University and the surrounding area, here is some helpful information and several excellent websites to help you plan your trip.

To get you started, please see the Visitor Resources pages located at: http://www.stanford.edu/dept/visitorinfo/resources/ for information on airports, lodging and transportation to and from the school.  This page has links to learn about the campus and its surrounding area.

For information on available tours and campus information, please visit http://www.stanford.edu/dept/news/neighbors/ and click on the Visitor’s Guide link.  Here you can get ideas for spending the day and make arrangements to tour different locations on campus.

If you are planning to be here for several days, the above Visitor Resource page has a link for lodging in the area.  You can also view additional links to learn about the surrounding area.  Some areas you (and your family) might want to see while you are here include Fisherman’s Wharf and Golden Gate Park in San Francisco and the Wine Country in Napa.  The Discovery Museum in San Jose is a great place to take the kids, as is the Monterey Aquarium in Monterey.  All these are easy one-day trips for the Palo Alto area.

If you wish to arrange a meeting with an EE faculty member, please contact them directly (http://www-ee.stanford.edu/faculty.php) as  the admissions office does not keep any calendars.

If you wish to speak to the Admissions Department during your visit, please contact the Admissions Office to arrange a meeting.
